Deep South Global World Series - Skill Competitions

All players participating in the World Series will have the opportunity to go head to head against the other athletes in their age group! We will crown a Champion and Runner Up in four different skills competitions! Home Run Derby, Fastest Man, Golden Arm, and NEW to 2026 (3 Athlete) Team Home Run Derby!

Information below on each skill competition and how to register! Cost is $25 per skill for the Home Run Derby, Fastest Man and Golden Arm events. Cost for the a Team Home Run Derby will be $60 per team. Players can participate in all four or just one! Individual Skills Competitions will begin at TBA on Friday, June 26th and end at TBA that day. Players can show up at any time during the window to do their skills at the assigned park. We highly suggest showing up early to beat the long lines.

By pre-registering for the skills competition athletes will save both time and money. Day of walk-up registrations will increase from $25 to $40 for the Home Run Derby, Fastest Man and Golden Arm Events. The Team Home Run Derby will increase from $60 per team to $75 per team for walk up registrations. All players either pre-registered or walk up must be present by 4:30PM, in order to participate in the events. Please DO NOT Wait Until 4:30 to show up.

Locations for Individual Skills – TBA

Players participate based on the age of the team they are rostered on for the Deep South Global World Series.

In order to be eligible to participate in the skills competitions athletes MUST be rostered on a team that is participating in the Deep South Global World Series.

Home Run Derby

• Players will receive 12 pitches. Every pitch counts towards the total number of pitches whether the batter swings or takes the pitch. The player will receive only 12 pitches.

  • Player must provide their own pitcher and the pitcher must be an adult.

• Home Run Distance

  • 6U – 8U: 100’

  • 9U – 10U: 125’

  • 11U – 12U: 175’

  • 13U – 14U: 225’

  • 15U: 250’

• Pre-Registration Fee $25 per player. Pre-registration closes on June 5th @ 8:00PM

• Walk Up Registration is $40 per player.

Fastest Man

• Fastest time 40 yard dash!

• All players who participate will run two (2) laser timed 40 yard dashes!

  • If laser timer is not working athletes will be timed by event staff on a handheld timer.

• Pre-Registration Fee $25 per player. Pre-registration closes on June 5th @ 8:00PM

• Walk Up Registration is $40 per player.

Golden Arm

• 5 Throws at a Socknet

• Hit the net 1 point

• Hit the net in the air 2 points

• Stays in the sock net from air 5 points.

• Distances

  • 6U – 8U: 100’

  • 9U – 10U: 125’

  • 11U – 12U: 175’

  • 13U – 14U: 225’

Team Home Run Derby

• Most Home Runs Win!

• 3 Athletes per Team

• One (1) 3 Minute Round to hit as many home runs as possible.

• Unlimited pitches

• Players can rotate in and out of the batting position as often as they choose

• Team must provide their own pitcher and the pitcher must be an adult.

• Home Run Distance

  • 6U – 8U: 100’

  • 9U – 10U: 125’

  • 11U – 12U: 175’

  • 13U – 14U: 225’

  • 15U: 250’

• Pre-Registration Fee $60 per team. Pre-registration closes on June 5th @ 8:00PM
